COGAN CORONATION U13s 12

CADOXTON IMPS U13s 0

WITH the end of the season drawing ever closer, undefeated Cogan Coronation remain top of the Vale Junior Soccer League U13s table after cruising to victory over Cadoxton Imps.

Playing at Cogan Rec on a rather muddy pitch, it was always going to be difficult for Cogan to deliver their usual brand of slick football and, although starting brightly, early chances went begging.

Only desperate defending and some fine save from the Imps' 'keeper kept the scores level until, after 10 minutes, Cameron Gauci, who had been a constant threat, struck the first blow with a neat finish that opened the floodgates. Luke Warlow soon added a second with a fine solo effort and further goals came from Cian McCarthy, Warlow, Gauci, who completed a hat-trick, and Cole Roberts with a superb diving header.

Leading 7-0 at the break, Cogan continued to dominate in the second half and added further goals from Aron Arthur (two), McCarthy, who would have completed a hat-trick but for a blazing miss from a yard out, Gauci, who slotted home after Aiden Ellis' shot came back off the crossbar, and Louis Crook.

Manager Lee 'Packer' Williams said: "With so many individual moments of brilliance all over the park, all players take great credit for this win. And it's really pleasing to keep another clean sheet against a Cadoxton side that fought until the end."

Cogan would like to thank Les Packer at RCD Contractors for his continued support.
