And baby makes five as little Dylan arrives

LITTLE Dylan James McKinstry will have plenty of relatives able to give him advice as he grows up - for the tot is the fifth generation of his family.

Dylan, born on May 29, met his great-great-grandmother Bette Knight for the first time yesterday.

Mrs Knight, who is 91, was born on April 1, 1910 and lives in Wharf Road, Newport.

Her daughter Jean Hall, 69, who celebrated her golden wedding anniversary to husband Bill just a few weeks ago, is a lifelong Newport resident and lives in Gordon Street.

New grandmother Linda Rogers, born in 1952, lives in Weston-super-Mare and has just been awarded a BA in psychology from the University of Bristol.

Her daughter and new mother Hayley McKinstry, 26, who teaches beauty therapy at Western College, lives in nearby Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset.

She brought Dylan to Wales to meet his great-great-grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mother and daughter Mrs Knight and Mrs Hall are together researching their family history.

They have succeeded in tracing their bloodline back to the 1500s, when their ancestors were mariners and yeoman farmers. And both are delighted by the latest arrival to their long line.

Mrs Hall said: "He's a lovely baby. And he doesn't like to be nursed facing inward - he has to be looking out. He likes to know what's going on."
