VAN DIESEL is one of Hollywood's upcoming stars - in order to gain real respect you must star in a thrilling, action packed movie, and it looks like he's followed the rules!
Brian (Paul Walker) is a man looking to make it on LA's street racing scene.
Despite not knowing much he wins a high speed race against some of the most expensive cars in the world. It wins him the respect of Dom (Diesel), the local engine guru.
However Dom is a suspect in a series of dangerous road robberies and as Brian's true identity begins to unfold, it becomes a deadly ride.
This is a remake of the great 1992 film Point Break (staring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze), only the surf boards have been replaced with cars and the banks have been replaced with trucks.
To do a remake of a film like that you have to do it well and director Rob Cohen certainly makes a good effort.
Most of his films like Daylight and The Skulls seem to go a bit boring in the middle but The Fast and The Furious is full of non stop action. Paul Walker does a perfect job in the Keanu Reeves role while Diesel seems to get better every time.
The script may be thin but that doesn't matter as the film is basically a thrill ride. Gone in 60 Seconds wasn't bad but let's face it, for a Jerry Bruck-heimer movie, the action was limited. This however is a perfectly directed 105 minutes of fantastic car chases.
If you like car chases, mayhem and daredevil stunts the TFATF is for you. The editing is fast, the music loud and the thrill factor - well, that's just high!
