CD Review

FIVE'S new album Kingsize kicks off with tons of energy, but by the last songs, it gets totally boring.

It starts with current big hit Let's Dance which has a great funky disco beat, a song you can just imagine played in the party hour in clubs.

It's followed by Lay All Your Lovin' On Me, which sees the Five boys sounding all tough, with plenty of rap, bass and screaming guitar chords. Rock The Party is pretty good, and samples Grease is the Word, with lots of rap and harmonies.

There's a big contrast with Closer To Me which is a slow, romantic song about unrequited love, then the very modern and energetic Hear Me Now.

Let's Get It On is another ballad, but has a lively beat to keep it going. It's followed by another romantic track, Feel The Love which has an anthemic feel to it.

We're Going All Night contains the usual Five-esque rapping and lively beats, while in contrast, Take your Chances On Me is repetitive and boring. This is the point where the album starts getting pretty tiresome.

Something in the Air is weak, Breakdown is boring, On Top Of the World is completely ironic as the boys sound totally weary and The Heat is yawnsome.
