SULLY children's hospice Ty Hafan is to benefit from a £2,500 cash boost thanks to the hard work of local business people.
Generous members of the Funeral Standards Council (FSC) across South Wales raised the cash by completing 'The Ty Hafan Tour', a sponsored walk, run or cycle, linking member to member across South Wales.
At a recent presentation event, FSC president Paul Babington presented the money to Ty Hafan chief executive Dominic Jenkins.
Mr Jenkins said: "There are around 300 children in Wales at present with needs so great they can only be met by a children's hospice.
"We rely on charitable donations and the people of Wales have been extremely generous and imaginative in their fund-raising."
He added: "The FSC has previously raised £1,000 for the hospice and we're delighted that they continue to support Ty Hafan."
FSC spokesman Lucy Davies said: "FSC members across the UK regularly take part in a range of charity and fund-raising work and are pleased to give something back to the communities they serve."
Ty Hafan is the only children's hospice in Wales offering a friendly 'home from home' for children with life-limiting illnesses.
Set within six acres of landscaped grounds to the side of Sully Hospital, the hospice has ten bedrooms, each with a sea view. There is also space for mums, dads, brothers and sisters to stay too.
The FSC is a regulatory organisation committed to a code of practice for all members along with developing the highest standards of training and customer care.
