Chandlers sponsor a new kit for a new team

THERE'S a new team in town, and they are here to introduce themselves.

Meet the Cadoxton Imps 'B' side, Under-10's. Managed jointly by Matthew Atkinson and Andrew Whitlock, this is the first season the team have played together.

They are sponsored by local Vale business owner Andrew Rabaiotti and proudly wear their blue and burgundy strip with 'Chandlers Restaurant Penarth' printed across the front of their shirts.

On Monday, September 17, training was put on hold so the team could visit Mr Rabaiotti at his Penarth sea front restaurant and thank him for his generosity.

Matthew said: "We took over his whole restaurant, and the kids had a great time. We wanted them to look smart, and to all look the same. When you look like a team, you feel like a team, and you can play like a team. Thanks to Mr Rabaiotti, we're nearly there."

So far this season, the 'B's haven't had huge successes on the pitch. But they are only just beginning to get used to each other, and Matthew thinks they will soon be a force to be reckoned with. He added: "We won our first game of the season against the Barry Eagles 'B' team on Saturday September 29. Things are really looking up."
