RED PLANET (12) is a sci-fi thriller set in 2050 when Earth is dying and our only chance is to colonise Mars.

Commander Kate Bowman (Carrie-Anne Moss) takes on the most important mission of the 21st century - preparing the red planet for human existence.

But things start to go very wrong as the mother ship suffers disastrous electrical faults. When they think things couldn't get worse, robot 'AMEY' malfunctions and turns into their enemy.

The subject matter for this film has a lot of potential - human survival affects us all. But in Red Planet, the script is weak, the acting gets wooden and the plot fizzles out rapidly. It could have been so much better.
