Joan's 70 years of membership marked

ON OCTOBER 2 the Glamorganshire Golf Club Ladies played for the Baird and Harper Martyn Cups.

The Baird Cup was won by Mrs Lorna Henry with 73 nett, runner-up was Mrs Heather Atkin, Nett 76.

The Harper Martyn Cup was won by Mrs Kate Thomas, 74 Nett; Runner-up Mary Richards 77 Nett.

Holes in Two: Lorna Henry, Dessie Curle, Jean Thomas and Heather Atkin.

On October 9 the Ladies played an 18 hole Stableford for the Victory Vase and Rose Bowl. Juliet Newham won the Victory Vase with a splendid score of 46 points.

The Rose Bowl for Handicaps 37 - 45 was won by Margaret Vaughan with 31 points.

On September 27 the ladies played 18 holes of golf followed by lunch.

This was well attended and much enjoyed and at the end of the proceedings everyone assembled in the garden for the inauguration of the seat (including the cherry tree) given by Mrs Joan Taylor to mark the occasion of her 70 years of membership of the club.
