David Eastwood seat is unveiled

THE LATE Llandough councillor David Eastwood was remembered on Saturday, when a seat was unveiled in his memory.

Cllr Eastwood, an English teacher and director of sixth form studies at St Teilo's Church in Wales High School, Cardiff, passed away in March last year at the age of 60.

Llandough Community Councillors joined together with family and friends on the Village Green, outside St Dochdwy's Church, to remember Cllr Eastwood's life and work.

The seat was purchased from donations collected from his friends and colleagues.

It will be a lasting memory to a man who did much for the community of Llandough in his role as a Vale of Glamorgan Councillor.

He was well liked and respected and is sadly missed by his family and friends.

His widow, Moira Eastwood, has publicly thanked the people of Llandough for the seat and plaque in his memory.

She said she and her family 'felt touched by this generosity and honoured that so many people contributed to this lasting tribute.'

She wishes to give special thanks to Jen Ramsden and Keith Nelson for their support and also to all those who donated money for the seat.
