Film Review: Meet the parents

MEET THE PARENTS (12)

Male nurse Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) is attempting to ask girlfriend Pam (Teri Polo) to marry him.

But before he can propose, he must get permission from Pam's cat-crazy ex-CIA agent daddy Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro), during a stay at the parents' house.

Almost immediately Greg arrives there Jack takes a dislike to him, and so starts a terrible string of mishaps caused by the well-meaning Greg.

First he manages to spill Jack's mother's ashes everywhere, then he floods the garden with sewage, and then there's a fire.... is there any hope?

Will Greg ever get Jack's permission to marry Pam? It certainly doesn't seem so!

Directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers), Meet the Parents is a brilliant film which never fails to bombard you with one hysterical scene after another.

Particularly interesting is Pam's shock at Greg's ability to wreck everything around him - she thought he was just a normal guy.

This film is totally original and worth watching time and again.
