A DINAS POWYS woman will give her 85-year-old mother a treat in a television programme to be screened next year.
Marilyn Godfrey and her mother Irene will appear in House to House, on HTV on Friday, January 11, at 2.10pm.
Because Irene has always helped other people, Marilyn orders a lounge makeover for her from the House to House team.
Designer Robert David takes charge and transforms the room at Irene's bungalow built in the grounds of daughter Marilyn's home.
Hair designer Ian Davies gives mother and daughter a hair makeover and in the kitchen, chef Peter Vaughan makes beef wellington and an organic chocolate dessert.
Director Ron Protheroe said: "We try to be a catalyst for change in people's lives.
"Other programmes are much more limited about what they set out to do - and they take much longer to do it. We bring about changes much more simply and effectively. Some programmes spend four or five days over their house makeovers, but ours are done in a day."
The programme producers have a large database of people anxious to play host to the team.
Mr Protheroe said: "There's no shortage of people keen to take part. They give us a warm welcome and I'm glad to say they generally like what we do."
The regular design team of Robert David and Stuart Hulse will be back again, and the chefs are St Asaph-born Peter Vaughan and Kathleen Harrison, head chef at Gilby's Restaurant in Cardiff.
Hair stylists Ian Davies, Philip Mungeam and Greg Hill, now based in a top Chelsea salon, will show how new looks can inspire new confidence.
