PEN-Y-GARTH, the Welsh medium school in Redlands Road, Penarth, has had some great sporting success in netball, swimming, gymnastics, rugby and football during the autumn term.
The swimming team came second in the Urdd Compton held in Sophia Gardens on December 3.
Ieuan Lloyd, Megan Lloyd, Frances Austin and the Year 5/6 girls relay team deserve a special mention for going through to the finals in North Wales in January.
The gymnastics team achieved first place in WAGA gymnastics competition for Cardiff and the Vale. Megan Thomas was first overall gaining the highest number of points.
A very enjoyable match against Llandough Primary School was won by the netball team and an equally enjoyable success was achieved by the football team at Llandough.
Finally, Ryan Donovan and Huw Morgan have been chosen for the Vale of Glamorgan's U-12 rugby squad.
