DISGRUNTLED residents in Penarth have demanded an update on the future of the Harbour View estate.
Alwyn Evans, of Chandlers Way, said: "I think it's a disgrace that so long has elapsed without any action.
"A friend of mine, who lives in the flats and who is in poor health, has no information whatsoever. I know the Harbour View Committee have had some information, but little seems to come out."
Members of the Penarth branch of Plaid Cymru want rapid action on the "long delayed" Harbour View report.
Gareth ap Sion, spokesman and branch secretary, said: "The report was promised for August, then delayed until November. It's apparently already in the hands of the Vale of Glamorgan Authority, but has not been made public."
Members want to know if any affordable housing will be included in the scheme, or whether it will be sacrificed for "executive homes with a view". They have also asked if present occupants of Harbour View will receive fair compensation to buy alternative homes.
Mr ap Sion said: "This is rather than the paltry sums of £10,000 to £20,000 that is rumoured will be offered for compulsory purchase. What kind of accommodation can one get for that money these days?"
"How long will the development take and over what stages? Other residents in the Paget Road and Harbour View Road area need to know over how long their lives will be disrupted by demolition and building works.
"What community facilities are planned for young people, pensioners and young mothers? What steps will be taken to make sure that the already horrendous traffic problems in Windsor Road are not worsened?
"There has already been too much delay in this matter and Vale of Glamorgan Councillors and officers need to be seen to act at once."
