THE MALTHOUSE recorded their best win of the season so far, taking out the Legion B 10-1 away from home in a match that saw the Legion fail to take their chances on the doubles and the Malthouse punishing them for it.
In fact the only point the Malthouse actually lost was in the Singles when A Calway got the better of Naz Madrick with 120, 20x.
The winners for the Malthouse were Willy, who took the first Pairs with 137, 7x, Naz, who won the next Pairs with 120, 4x, and Eddie Coombs, who won the last Pairs on 8x after a ton by Brian Nurse.
Yvonne de Claire should have won her Singles but missed her doubles to let Doug Elliot in, scoring 100, 100, 2x. Yvonne scored a ton also.
Willy won the next with 100, 10x, Paul Paterson scored a maximum 180 in his leg but could not shake off the challenge of Nigel Wade, who scored 100, 7x to take the leg. Brian Nurse hit 10x to win and Steady Eddie took the last with 100, 20x.
The Malthouse won both the three-a-side legs with Steady Eddie on target in the first with 1x to do the hat-trick after a ton from Brian. A Calway played well for the Legion scoring 116, 100. Doug Elliot won the last with 100, 4x.
An enjoyable evening was had by all even though the Legion lost by a big margin. The Legion A and the Cogan was another match played in a good atmosphere at the Cogan Hotel, where the food is always excellent.
Les Aubrey won the first Pairs on 10x after Dave Purser supported well with 100, 121, Julia John could not hide her joy at winning the next leg on 1x and Davie hit 2x to take the last after the Viking scored 125, 100.
Dave Purser won the first Singles with 100, 100, 20x. Vick scored 123.
Les took the second with 135, 10x, Merve The Swerve scored 100. Colin 'Boy' Williams won the next with 15x and Davie won the one after that with 125, 10x.
The Cogan won the next two with Big Mitch playing well with 100, 100, 9x to assassinate Councillor Davies.
The Viking thought he had the game in the bag scoring 125 and looking for the double when Ray Paul sneaked up from behind and took the leg with a cracking 84 out shot on 20x.
The three-a-sides were shared with Dave Purser taking the first for the Legion with 20x after (there's only one) Davie Hodges scored three tons.
Denno played well to take the last leg with a maximum 180 and 18x first dart, to take the score to 7-4 in the Legion's favour. Big Mitch scored 107.
The Ex's B had what looks like a good win 7-4 over the Ex's A but unfortunately the side were short and the B claimed four of the seven points they acquired.
Jeff Price was on target in the first Pairs, scoring 100, 20x, Dennis de Clare took the second Pairs with 100, 8x, the B side claimed the last Pairs.
Eddie Bousie won the first Singles on 2x, Carlos followed that with 121, 16x. The B side hit back with Geoff Walters scoring 140, 16x and Martin Coles hitting 16x.
The B side claimed the last two Singles and the A side won the only three-a-side played, with Carlos scoring 140, 100 and Uncle Dennis hitting 10x to keep it in the family.
The Pilot waited in anticipation but the Coro could not field a team and had to concede the match by telephone, 8-0.
Games for this Friday: Legion A v Pilot; Coro A v Ex's B; Ex's A v bye; Cons v Legion B; Malthouse v Cogan.
