FURTHER to your article regarding the doors at either end of Windsor arcade. Mark Andrews obviously has no understanding of disability and, in my opinion, very little common sense.
Clear, glass doors are a danger to partially sighted people and, if not properly marked, to sighted people also.
Last November I collided with a full length glass panel at Cardiff County Hall. I was badly shaken and somewhat bruised and having the misfortune to suffer with epilepsy the shock later made me very unwell.
Besides asking the council for compensation (or I shall sue), I asked that social services and environmental health of that council investigate the matter. This way the 'windows' will actually be visible to others who attempt to walk through an apparently empty space.
It is a matter of time before such an accident occurs at Windsor arcade. The much berated environmental heath department of the Vale of Glamorgan BC might be able to justify it's existence a little by investigating the situation and taking action to protect the public in Penarth.
