A DISGUSTED Penarth resident has hit out after someone stole half the daffodils from her garden.
Judy Jones, of Wordsworth Avenue, was shocked on Monday morning when she left her house only to discover at least a dozen flowers had been picked overnight.
Mrs Jones, who likes spending time gardening to produce her beautiful garden, said: "When I went to work on Monday morning I saw immediately that flowers had disappeared and wondered what had happened. It hurts me that someone would do this.
"It's really annoying to think that I did all the work to grow them and then somebody has come along and picked them. Probably somebody's mother has them now."
She said the thieves picked about 12 of the flowers - "a good bunch". It is not the first time Mrs Jones has had items stolen from her front garden. Previously, she had a number of trees dug up and taken. She said: "I'd like to say to whoever took them that I hope they had a lot of pleasure out of them. The whole world is sick.
"If they wanted a bunch of flowers I'd have given them the money." Mrs Jones said she was extremely upset about the incident. She said: "I've spent a lot of time in my garden to make it beautiful. Now someone has just come along and taken the flowers from me. I can't believe someone would just do that. I imagine a mother somewhere has got a nice bunch of daffodils now."
