I AM shocked and appalled by the recent reports on juvenile crime in the UK. I can't believe that the country has got itself into such a bad situation. If you ask me the answer lies with discipline from an early age.
Children develop their social skills from an early age, so if they're neglected or left to do whatever they want to, then obviously they're going to develop in a negative way. All these rules that have come out now about not smacking kids are just ridiculous. How are they ever meant to learn what's right and wrong. Sometimes they're not going to listen to a raised voice are they?
So if children grow up allowed to do whatever they please, they're going to turn into teenagers with little respect for anyone, which is exactly what we're seeing today. The only answer is to nip it in the bud.
And by the way, I am not a senior citizen, or even an adult, I am just a teenager who is disgusted by her peers. I really hope they stop it all before Penarth becomes another statistic in this UK house of horrors.
