CD Review

AFTER a two-year break from the music industry Celine Dion is back with a sizzling new album, A New Day Has Come.

It kicks off with 'I'm Alive' which is full of spirit and has a party rhythm and strong vocals. Next up is 'Right in front of you', an original and pretty ballad.

'Have you ever been in love?' is a slow gentle song which displays Celine's impressive voice range, and 'Rain, tax (It's inevitable)' is another ballad.

'A New Day Has Come', Celine's current big hit, is symbolic of her return to the charts after time off to have a baby. This is a really good song. 'Ten days', is relaxing, while 'Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)', is an emotional song. 'Prayer', is very slow and gentle, while 'I surrender' is atmospheric.

'At last' contains violin and piano solos and is rather like a song that would be performed on stage at an expensive restaurant. 'Super love' is just average, while 'Sorry for love' is lively. 'Aun existe amor' is the only foreign language song on the album which is not very good.

'The greatest reward' is better. 'When the wrong one loves you' is quite original and 'Nature boy', is a gentle version of a well-known song.
