TRIBUTES for the Queen Mother have been pouring in to the Penarth Times' official website, www.thisispenarth.co.uk
Memories from as far away as Western Australia and Canada have been recorded on our website through an online condolences book.
The Queen Mother died in her sleep last Saturday, March 30, at Royal Lodge, her Windsor residence, with the Queen at her bedside.
Bill and Brigitte Angove, of Toronto, Canada, said: "A very classy Royal who will be missed by all those who respected and admired her, but more so by her family. God bless her."
And similar sentiments were recorded by surfers in America.
Mike Metzger said: "It saddened us Americans to hear of the loss of your Queen Mum. I had just returned from the UK a mere few days prior to her passing. She will be missed." And fellow American Pauline Potter, of Pataluma, said: "The world has lost the last of the gracious ladies. May she rest in peace."
Down under in Western Australia Andrew Watson of Thornlie said: "The Queen Mother was the backbone of the Royal Family. God rest her soul."
At home in the UK, Amanda Wood of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, said: "I will miss the Queen Mum for her smile. She lived her life to the full. I will miss her for that. God bless you Queen Mum."
