EXTRACTS from the Penarth Times of April 15, 1977:
* Headmaster of Stanwell Comprehensive School, Dr M H Johnes, congratulated a group of pupils whose achievements were recognised at the School's Award Ceremony last week. The group who were presented with certificates were Fiona McLachlan, David Thomas, Anthony Hooper, Cath Walton, Keith Davies, Anne Harris and John Burtenshaw.
* South Glamorgan County Council is now trying to find a solution to meet the objections of residents of the St David's Estate to the new style, part concrete pavements.
* Despite the cold spell Penarth Water Ski Club staged their opening race of the season at the first weekend in April, with 12 of their top skiers taking part in the 18 mile event.
* Cllrs George Thomas and Win Griffiths, on behalf of Dinas Powis Labour Party, have welcomed the latest plans for the development of the Old School Site at Dinas Powis Square.
* The monthly meeting of the Inner Wheel Club of Penarth was held at the Masonic Hall, last week when the president Mrs Joan Miller was in the chair.

EXTRACTS from the Penarth Times of April 17, 1992:
* Children of the Cylch Feithrin Bethel, Plassey Street, Penarth enjoyed their Easter Parade. Mrs Pauline Evans said that this had been their most successful year.
* Congratulations to Mrs Dot Knapman of Beechwood Drive, Penarth who, at the age of 84, has completed the 1,408 lengths of the Leisure Centre's 25 metre pool.
* The Action Research Easter Lunch in the Lee Hall on Wednesday of last week was attended by some 60 people, and the takings amounted to almost £300.
* Top priority may be given to the long-awaited Dinas Powis by-pass in South Glamorgan's five year roads programme estimated to cost £134m for schemes in the £5m plus bracket.
* The inaugural dinner of the Probus Club of Dinas Powys was held at the Huntsman Restaurant, when Ron Wilcox was installed as Founder President by David Phillips, President of Dinas Powys Rotary Club.
