NHS thanks

WE TEND to be a complaining society and in times when the National Health Service and its associated services fail to meet our needs we complain loudly and often very publicly.

I write to place on record that my sister (Jane Goddard) and I found the services provided by the doctors, district nurses and all staff at Redlands Surgery, together with Social Services (carers) to be of a very high standard indeed, enabling our aged mother to live her last months where she wanted to live, in her own home.

This letter is to express our personal thanks for their caring and understanding help.

The alternative to nursing home care, care in the home, is in my view very much the preferable course of action for older people and my experience leads me to believe that such care is in the hands of very dedicated and capable people.
