Pay to park

FOR years I've been a loyal customer to The Captain's Wife in Swanbridge. Now I'm not so sure I want to go there again.

I was very upset to discover they had implemented a new 'pay and display' scheme. I understand that for two hours it costs £1 to park there, which you can claim back if you have food there. But if you are there longer than that, you have to pay £2 or even £3 (which I presume you don't get back). If you don't pay up and get a ticket, you are liable to a fine of £50. How ridiculous.

How many times do you go there and stay after lunch for a drink or two? Isn't it nice to sit out in the sun all afternoon while sipping a cold drink? It's not so attractive when you have to pay to park your car for the privilege of using the bar and restaurant, is it?
