CD Review

SOMETIMES when you're watching a film you hear a nice classical bit of music and wonder what it is.

But you never really find out - unless you watch the credits - because it's generally the big pop hits of the film that get the glory.

But now a new CD Pure Cinema Chillout, comprising 39 classical pieces from new and old films, is changing all that.

There's Newman's Any Other Name from American Beauty, Williams' Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and Armstrong's Balcony Scene from Romeo and Juliet.

My favourite is Elfman's Main Title / Ice Dance from Edward Scissorhands which is brilliant, while Shore's The Fellowship from the recent Lord of the Rings film is also great.

You can relax with North's Unchained Melody from hit movie Ghost and chill with Satie's Gnossienne No.1 from the film Chocolat.

With tracks from so many films, including Pearl Harbor, The Mission and Breakfast at Tiffany's, this really is a great CD double which compiles the true foundations of the movies.
