Chef's special

I LIVED in Penarth from about 1980-1984, and remember a little French restaurant in the centre of town, near the roundabout by the Midland bank.

I think the chef there was Denis Dubiard, now the star of The Edwardian Country House. Can you remember if it was him? I know his wife used to own a ladies clothes shop near the railway station, but I can't remember its name. Ah, the joys of growing old.

Weapons work

THANK goodness America and Russia are now firm friends and that the Cold War is finally buried. It could have buried us!

I hope Pakistan and India take note and step back from the brink.

I disagree with the campaign for nuclear disarmament - yes nuclear weapons can annihilate so men think twice about using them, whereas with conventional weapons used in Palestine, do not offer much constraint.
