PENARTH was ablaze with red, white and blue last weekend as thousands of locals celebrated the Golden Jubilee with style.
Residents threw street parties, shops and offices were dressed up to the nines, schools treated the kids to special assemblies.
Youth clubs laid on discos, community groups held exhibitions, residential homes had tea dances and nearly everyone raised a glass to the Queen.
From tiny tots to OAPs, many took advantage of the excuse for four days of partying right across the town and beyond.
Cogan Nursery School pupils were just one group who partied the weekend away. And they were overjoyed when they were visited by the Queen - or rather their school secretary Jean Shafto who bears an uncanny likeness.
She gave out special medallions to all the children, engraved with 'We're All Friends At Cogan Nursery School - Golden Jubilee 2002'.
Headteacher Chris Hodge said at Friday's Jubilee party: "We've had an absolutely fantastic day. The children have all dressed up as Kings and Queens and look brilliant.
"The staff and parents have all made a great effort too, dressing up, making lots of delicious food and putting up lots of bunting."
The youngsters at First Steps Nursery in Cogan also had a wonderful time dressing up as royalty.
