I AM writing to you regarding the article about the car parking at the Captain's Wife pub. It is a really good idea for the customers to pay to park there as they get their money back when they pay for a meal or drink.

People don't have to clock watch at all, so they are not losing anything. They are all gaining as they can park easier, before the pay and park came in it was dreadful, all sorts use the car park to play loud music and drink their own cans of beer.

Last summer we had drugs there as well, so it does stop undesirable people.

On a nice day it's awful, they come from everywhere drinking and driving, but nothing has been done about it, at least now it will be ease the traffic racing up and down Beach Road, as you cannot walk along the road with all the cars.

At least now it is under control and will not cause a blockage as they can either go in and park or go around the roundabout and come out if they don't want to pay.
