Traffic solution

THIS last week we have had a taste of what hold-ups the traffic lights at Dinas Road will cause, and any diversion is preferable.

Of course drivers would divert along St Anne's; who wouldn't?

Why does St Anne's have to be blocked off, why can't it be made one-way?

Blocking it off would force more traffic to turn right into St Mark's, causing tailbacks of through traffic on Lavernock Road, right on a school crossing.

Obviously no thought was given to the wider issues before the council started.

I think the residents of Dinas Road should be sent the new layout, with its traffic calming benefits, immediately in order to assist the council in getting things right the first time.

It would seem that your paper only informs its readers of what is about to happen on the day of issue. How about a little prior notice?

And a thought for the future. When the Cogan Hall estate is finished, how about a one-way system from the station around Victoria Square and back along Victoria Avenue?

If they started now it could be ready just in time!
