AN EX-PENARTH Times reporter is thriving in his home from home.
Glenn George, 59, used to live in Paget Terrace with his mum Peggy, his late father Glyn, his two brothers Derek and Peter and his sister Carole.
Eager to forge a career for himself, Glenn took on the role of junior reporter at the Penarth Times when he was just 17-years-old. He stayed with it for two years before deciding to try catering.
Now living in Jersey, Glenn has a family to be proud of and is managing a huge restaurant complex in a busy golf club.
His mum Peggy still lives in Paget Terrace. She told the Times: "When Glenn was working for the paper, he used to bring John Humphrys, who now works for the BBC, home for tea. But he got restless and wanted to try a different direction."
Glenn moved to Jersey and started a family with his native wife Jackie. Now his daughter Clair is happily married and his two sons are making ripples in the legal and musical profession.
Tim is his eldest at 25. He's working in London as a solicitor after graduating from law school.
Chris is 22 and is making a name for himself as a talented pianist. He still has one year left of study in the Guildhall School of Music, but has already performed around the world. Peggy added: "My children have all moved away from Penarth apart from Carole, and they're all doing so well. Peter lives in America now.
"Even though my family live all around the world, we're still very close and Glenn visits me regularly. We've got lots of lovely memories, and with his children being so talented, I've always got lots of news to hear from them all. Glyn would be proud of our children. I know I am."
