No beacon

WHY wasn't the beacon on Cliff Walk lit for the Queen's golden jubilee celebrations?

Might I suggest that better use could be made of it if it were dismantled, painted and with a bit of imagination incorporated into the new children's play area nearby.

I'm sure the children would find a use for it and help justify the cost of its manufacture, erection and its very existence.

With its cobbled stoned base fast disappearing, another solution would be to collapse it and let the vandals wreak their mindless havoc on it.

Name received Maillard's Haven Penarth
