DINAS Powys' Richard Bransons of the future have been getting to grips with business.
Year five pupils at St Andrew's Major Church in Wales Primary School have been taking part in a mini-enterprise project, creating a company called Union Year 5.
The youngsters designed a company logo and then made important decisions on making lots of money.
A loan of £50 was obtained to start their business and before long they were planning the launch of their careers.
The school barbecue on June 28 was designated the right time for the launch, with each child having their own department to be responsible for.
There was car washing, skate board ramps, beat-the-goalie, face painting, badge making, hair braiding, tattoos, Jubilee jellies, sweets and chocolate apples.
When the crowds had dispersed, the mini-entrepreneurs discovered they had made an amazing profit of £158.76.
A company meeting was called to decide how to spend this profit and it was felt a well-deserved trip to Hollywood Bowl was in order.
Union Year 5 also felt they would like to share their profits with children not so lucky as themselves.
As a result, they will soon be making cash donations to Ty Hafan and the Cardiff Chernobyl Children's Project.
