YOU may know that there is a great deal of concern by local residents of Robinswood Crescent concerning proposals to impose a cycle route to Evenlode School, routed down the Crescent.
This is a road in an area populated largely by elderly people, and already endangered by being used as a car park by members and visitors of Windsor Bowling Club, and (often on the same day) by parents taking/collecting their children to the school, let alone occasional sports days.
Many residents have written to the council to express concern and the council, at its planning committee meeting on June 26, resolved to defer the matter for further consideration, and to arrange a site meeting for committee members to see the situation for themselves.
With superb timing, the council has arranged the site visit on a date after the closure of the school for the summer holidays.
Still, at least members will not need to wear their new issue opaque 'I see no ships' glasses. With any luck there will be no bowls match and the Crescent will appear to be the idyllic place the planners once envisaged when it was designed and laid out all those years ago.
