Puzzled!

IN LAST week's letter page, Len Rainbow referred to the concerns of the residents of Robinswood Crescent about the effects of the proposed cycle route (thankfully, now scrapped by the council) and also to dangers allegedly caused by car parking by members and visitors using Windsor Bowling Club.

I am a little puzzled. The Bowling Club has occupied its present site for 90 years and thus pre-dates the Crescent's residential development by some 50 years.

Mr Rainbow presumably decided to live in Robinswood Crescent knowing of the existence of the club. Since, therefore, he might reasonably have anticipated some car parking associated with the use of the club, his complaint about it is somewhat illogical.

I also suggest that his allegation of members and visitors endangering other road users is without foundation.

Ray Simpson, Robinswood Crescent, Penarth.
