A DINAS Powys business woman has been lending a healing hand to athletes who have sustained injuries whilst in training.
Marilyn Godfrey, a former pupil at Penarth Grammar School and a Dinas Powys resident, recently treated Cardiff's Commonwealth Games badminton player, Richard Vaughan, who had opted for multi-therapy treatment to heal his Achilles tendons quickly, in preparation for the event, where he won a bronze medal for Wales, in the men's singles category.
Speedy
Richard admitted that the treatment he received had worked, and other international athletes have also benefited from the speedy results.
Marilyn has been retained by Wales Trade International to treat delegates, and has also been involved in discussions aimed at franchising her methods, oils and creams in Dubai in September.
She caught the attention of Sheikh Juma Al Maktoum of Dubai recently, who was delighted with the immediate results of her multi-therapy treatments.
In addition, Marilyn's jet lag remedy is being endorsed by international athletes and business people, and is under discussion for use in connection with a major airline.
She said: "Wales Trade International introduced me to the delegation, as they knew I was interested in developing my business outside the United Kingdom." She continued:
"These are very exciting discussions, and we can see a number of opportunities in this new market."
Several businesses have sent members of their staff to Marilyn's clinic, in order to receive treatment, as well as a local bowls club.
Marilyn confided the secret of her success, when she said: "I think it is a combination of the treatment, time to talk over their problems and a cup of tea."
Tony Aggawarl, Wales Trade International said they were delighted.
He added: "The delegation came to Wales, and have found much more than they expected".
The Pain Relief Clinic in Dinas Powys operates on a Monday from 10am-8pm. For further information, contact Marilyn Godfrey on 029 20403010.
