I AM WRITING about the Sully Hospital controversy. As a regular visitor to the University Hospital at Heath Park, it always amazes me to find extensions, modifications and repair work always going on, often requiring outpatients to be diverted in order to arrive at their appointed destination.

I think it would be no exaggeration to say that in the last ten years, I have never failed to see works of some sort going ahead.

Where is all the money coming from and why has this been going on for so long with no funds whatsoever being allocated to refurbishment of hospitals such as Sully, when the administration are always trotting out the excuse of "bed shortage"?

I think they are the guilty parties, in closing down the fringe or satellite hospitals which could so easily have absorbed some of the work load on the UHW.

Have they never heard the saying, "never put all your eggs in one basket?" There are so many useful jobs that Sully could cover so I say, make it useable now and listen to the people.
