Unsightly

IT is pleasing to see that something is to be done about repairing the dangerous steps from the prom to beach. I hope that consideration is given to the fact that the southernmost bastion opposite the Yacht Club (where the old slipway was) is an eyesore with those dinghies parked there. Perhaps steps could be put there too. The pavement could be levelled out to give uninterrupted passage across the eyesore. The steps would be more or less hidden so the conservation-schmonservation cosmeticians couldn't complain.

Perhaps also the bridge across the bastion could be put back. Perhaps those unsightly boats have gone. I don't know since I must confess I don't go down to the prom much now to see these things, there is no pleasure in sitting on a bench to look at a rusty railing right in my line of sight. Maybe there are plans to do all these improvements. Could the Penarth Times obtain a few more details of the refurbishment plans for us?

Incidentally what is the difference between the Promenade and the Esplanade?
