Comedy with two wives

THE PENARTH Operatic and Dramatic Society will be starting their new theatre season off with a bang by presenting Ray Cooney's hilarious comedy "Run For Your Wife", at the Paget Rooms, Penarth, from Wednesday, October 16 until Saturday October 19.

Ray Cooney is a masterly comedy writer and together with an experienced cast and excellent producer, Margaret Donaldson, this play has all the right ingredients for a great night of laughter.

The play centres around John Smith, a London cabbie with his own taxi, who has a wife in Streatham, a wife in Wimbledon and a knife-edge schedule between the two.

He has been a successful , if tired bigamist for three years. John's nightmare starts when he is taken to hospital with mild concussion and tries bravely to cope with the ensuing complications and two increasingly irate wives.

If you enjoy a good laugh, this is for you. Tickets for "Run For Your Wife" are priced at £6 and £5 concessions, available from Deric Davies Optician, Glebe Street, Penarth, tel 2070 7858.

The new outlet, Wood Street Post Office, Penarth, tel 2070 7170, or you can ring PODS Ticket Secretary, Brian Gardner on 2071 2260.
