Halting signal

HAVING lived in Victoria Road for the past twelve months and observed two recent road accidents at junctions, my guess is that some motorists get confused by the present road system.

Seven radial roads run directly or indirectly south or southwest from the town centre to Redlands Road (the southern outer ring road).

Archer Road/Dyserth Road, which many motorists use as an inner ring road, crosses all these radial roads with obligatory halts at all junctions except two, Cwrt-y-vil Road and Salisbury Avenue, which are either side of Victoria Road, and where the majority of accidents occur. If obligatory halts were imposed at the Cwrt-y-vil Road and Salisbury Avenue junctions and a sign put up each end at the entrance to Archer Road (Plymouth Road) and Dyserth Road (Cornerswell Road) stating 'Halt at each junction on this road,' the accident rate may well fall dramatically.
