School jam

This was the watery scene in Archer Road on Monday when parents jammed the road while collecting their children (many of whom were without protection against the rain.) Cars arrived from three directions and consequently all three roads leading to the school were blocked, since those trying to get out were blocked by those entering.

A smartly dressed teacher was standing in the cross roads getting soaked trying to get the cars in one of the roads to move in order to create an escape route but, as fast as the road became clear it was filled up by others entering, who didn't see that the road was completely blocked. This was in addition to the school staff leaving the premises. Some sort of scheme should be devised so that at least one of the roads is used only as an exit on these occasions.
