DVD review

Nicole Kidman takes an excellent role as confused and highly-strung Grace in this dark film.

The Others is a spectacular movie with an easy to follow plot. Throughout the film, the audience knows there is something not quite right, but cannot pin it down.

Grace is the mother of two young children with a potentially fatal allergy to light. Her husband has not returned from World War Two.

The family lives in a huge house in Jersey and when the servants disappear over night,

Grace takes on three strangers to help her run her home. But shortly after their arrival, strange things happen.

There is no excess of violence or explicit language, ensuring a 12 certificate. But don't be fooled into thinking it lacks punch. This is definitely one to watch - but not alone!
