Tree misery

I AM sure I am not alone in feeling upset and annoyed with the Vale of Glamorgan Council's decision to "hack" down the trees in Wordsworth Avenue.

I have lived in Wordsworth Avenue for approximately 18 months. My husband and I moved our family here because we liked the area and particularly liked the trees that lined the roads around here.

The trees have now been turned into stumps - apparently by next spring they will begin to "crown" again - but because of the severe pruning of the trees, they will never grow to their previous splendour.

I understand that the trees have been mutilated because the Vale of Glamorgan Council has apparently received complaints regarding damage to the highway, local property and tree sap ruining the parked cars.

The "hacking" down process has been going on this past week. We have had no notices, leaflet drops, press releases etc. to let us, the residents, know what is happening.
