Ladies enjoy good golf and good company

THE LAST LGU Pendant competition was held on September 17.

First, with a good score was Pam Hanmer 103-40 =63 nett. Second was Margaret Coulthard 101-34 =67 (back 9), third was Pam Warne 96-29 =67 and fourth was Anne Davidson 85-16 = 69. With these scores, the first three ladies dropped their handicaps.

Members and guest was held on September 19. This was well attended and gave the ladies a chance to reciprocate any invitations they had received from friends in other clubs over the past year.

As well as the golf, there was a meal at 7pm, followed by a presentation of beautiful prizes by the Lady Captain, Mrs Jeni Mapstone.

The results of the Stableford Greensome Foursome were as follows: 1st Diane Morris, Southerndown and Anne Davidson, Dinas Powys with a score of 48 points.

There were four couples who had 39 points. These are in order of count back. Gill Harding, Southerndown and Zene Graham, Dinas Powys, Marian Stephens, Cottrell Park and Mary Blackwell, Dinas Powys, Anita Gill, Glamorgan and Deann Padfield, Dinas Powys,

Avril Morgan, Glamorgan and Moyra Smith, Dinas Powys.

Mrs Diane Morris had a dream day. Firstly it was her birthday and to give herself a present, she had a hole in one on the 123 yard 18th hole, in front of the club house.

This put her and her partner, Anne, well in front with that 5 Stableford points. All the ladies at Dinas Powys had a drink from Mrs Diane Morris and wished her many more happy golfing days.
