Fallen leaves

READING about the cutting of trees in the Wordsworth Avenue area I have different views.

My wife fell recently in Raisdale Road because the pavement was slippery as a result of sap from the trees and rain. She sustained a fracture of her leg spending nearly two weeks in hospital, and a hip replacement. I cannot understand the council persisting in planting trees on pavements and until now have done little in the way of maintenance such that the trees have become huge causing much damage to the pavements, sewers etc as well as as obstructing the views of drivers in several areas.

I would like to see all the trees on pavements cut down completely so that the many accidents that are going to occur this autumn by people slipping on wet leaves would be prevented.
