Block danger

I RECENTLY visited the new playground on the Cliff Top, Penarth with a friend and her two young children, aged five and two.

I was very impressed with the new equipment and the soft ground cover which together with the surrounding fence make the new area extremely child-friendly.

However, there is one problem. Why is there a large "Stonehenge" type concrete block placed in the middle of the play area? Couldn't this be outside the play area?

Children's natural instinct is to run around and enjoy themselves, and they would feel safe to do so in this new area. But if a child fell against a concrete block there may be a serious injury, especially to their head.

What are the feelings of the other readers? Do they agree that this block should be removed before an accident occurs?
