DVD Review: Blade 2

FORGET Buffy. Blade 2 sees Wesley Snipes facing a challenge no other slayer could meet.

In this all-action movie, Blade (Snipes) has to ally himself with vampires - his most hated enemies who he lives to kill.

But there is something worse on the streets. A vampire who feeds on vampires and humans alike, turning them into diseased blood-hungry fiends like himself.

Snipes is the 'Daywalker', a mix of half human, half vampire. But can he trust his enemies long enough to kill this new breed of threat?

With excellent special effects and fight scenes that bring to mind 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon', this is a wicked movie. And the villain, underneath his rather grotesque make-up is surprisingly enough Luke Goss of the 1980s boy band Bros.

It would help if you have seen the first Blade but the thread is quite easy to pick up.

Not a good idea for the squeamish because there is a lot of blood and violence, and the language can be quite explicit, earning it its 18 certificate But apart from that, it is a fabulous film and well worth a watch.
