Awesome

IT WAS a great pleasure to attend a performance at Stanwell School of the musical Les Miserables - the European debut of the school edition.

For the staff involved it must have been an awesome decision to take on a project of this magnitude and complexity and they are to be congratulated on a faultless presentation.

This could not have been achieved without the obvious enthusiasm, dedication and team spirit of all involved.

The lead players were excellent and displayed great talent, it was difficult to believe that they were still pupils.

They were ably and enthusiastically supported by a large, well rehearsed cast, a 34 piece student only orchestra and the well drilled precision of a back stage crew whose timing was immaculate.

The project was an excellent example of practical education involving history, music, planning, organisation, team effort and discipline.

Well done Stanwell; the standing ovation by the packed audience was more than well deserved.
