Sully Colts Tigers U-8s v Sully Colts Sea Hawks
ON SATURDAY at Burnham Avenue the Tigers put their unbeaten record on the line against the Sea Hawks in an eagerly awaited local derby.
From the kick off the Hawks matched the Tigers all the way with some smart passing and ferocious tackling. It was Tigers, however, who got off the mark when Ben Portlock slotted home, somewhat against the run of play.
Hawks then laid siege on the Tigers goal and Ben Ware had to be at his best between the posts. Tigers weathered the storm and Rory Heslop weaved his magic to score a fine individual goal.
After the break Tigers grew in confidence and Ben Portlock, in stunning form, added three further goals.
This was a fine team performance, with everyone working hard, none more so than Daniel Ellis who was awarded the man of the match tag.
Chris Goodfellow and Tom Brewer held the defence together to allow midfielders Callum Masters, Callum Willis and Tom Smith to create time and space for strikers Heslop and Portlock to score the goals.
Credit must go to the Sea Hawks who gave a fine account of themselves.
