Car block issue

PENARTH residents are calling for a solution to the town's growing parking problems.

Locals living in and around Windsor Terrace lane say the issue is becoming an 'absolute nightmare' as their drives are constantly blocked by cars.

Sarah Davies told the News: "There has been a problem for years. I even keep records of the cars which obstruct my garage.

"It is very frustrating when a car parks across from or in front of my garage, because it means we can not get the car out or in."

She added that she had been in touch with the police who were very supportive and often put tickets on cars.

The width of Windsor Terrace Lane means that there will always be a problem if cars are parked along it.

Unfortunately, there can not be a police officer or traffic warden patrolling all the time, so some cars still park there.

Inspector Sid Griffith of the Vale of Glamorgan police said: "There have been many complaints about people obstructing access.

"There was a proposal to put double yellow lines down the road, but not all the residents wanted them.

"I think the biggest problem is inconsiderate parking."

He added that there was parking problems on Rectory Road lane and not just at the back of Windsor Terrace.

Other residents at the top of Windsor Terrace also expressed there concern about people obstructing their drives.
