PENARTH has yet to get broadband and will not do so until people register their interest.
Residents have to register their intention with their service provider to get broadband for the internet.
The broadband system allows the computer to be on-line all the time, which means there is no calling up time.
It also means that the internet is between ten and 20 times faster than ordinary internet connections.
Hugh Davies of Victoria Road, Penarth, said: "I want broadband for my work.
"I do a lot of work from home because I am employed in Jersey and it is easier to use my computer.
I have registered my interest but we need 400 people to register before we get broadband."
BT ADSL Broadband can cost between £250,000 and £500,000 to be put in.
The trigger level of each area is set by BT based on the amount of money it would cost to put the new system in.
Some areas need less than people 400 to register but other areas need more.
There is another system of broadband, which uses satellites, and this does not need to be put in.
This system costs more money, but will be the same as ASDL broadband.
Another resident Theo Jones,14 of Augusta Road said: "I want people to register their interest because Penarth cannot get broadband without more interest."
