World in ruin

HOW many of your readers remember Louis Arm-strong's song What a Wonderful World? Wasn't it?

That is, until clever Homo sapiens had their way, hell bent, it would seem, on setting out to destroy all that is naturally beautiful.

Wild creatures hunted for the amusement of some glorious countryside desecrated by monstrous edifices, lovely old buildings replaced by ugly modern 'art' to satisfy someone's greed for money.

Rivers polluted, seas swimming in untreated sewage, cities and towns choking with exhaust fumes, which make people feel ill.

The barbaric clubbing to death of beautiful seal pups, makes one wonder if humans are human at all. The cruelty to children by inept, insensitive parents is appalling.

We have achieved a materialistic society, obsessed by greed and envy, killed caring stone dead, have murdered and mugged and had laughable punishment.

We had this beautiful world which we have constantly abused, do we really deserve to keep it?
