EXTRACTS from the Penarth Times, of November 18, 1977: l There is still a good chance that the Kymin House and four acres of grounds at Beach Road, Penarth, may be used for the benefit of townspeople.

Unconverted tries by S James and S Evans were not enough for Penarth to stave off defeat last Saturday.

North Wales visitors Ruthin gained a 9 points to 8 victory.

A move by the Penarth Town Twinning Committee to spend up to £50 on a presentation to the long serving Chairman of its equivalent body in St Pol de Leon has been blocked by the Town Council.

Mrs Dona Vining was installed as the new President of Penarth Inner Wheel Club by Immediate Past President, Mrs Joan Miller.

The weekly meeting of the Penarth OAPs was held at the Rest Centre on November 5, with Mrs Gwen Cook in the chair supported by Mrs G Thoms, secretary.

Cllr Tom Waugh has called on the Vale Council to clean-up the course of the stream which runs alongside Alexandra Park. Cllr Waugh said that the water can no longer flow freely.

Penarth and Llandough are to stay within the new Vale unitary authority, it was confidently claimed this week.

After nearly three years offering a full amenity and recycling service at Penarth Dock, the site is set to close at noon on Sunday, November 22.

Penarth MP Alun Michael, who is chairman of the Computer Workshop Advisory Group received a cheque for £8,000 from Beverley Dixon, of Marks and Spencer, and Roy Dowell from the South Glamorgan TEC.

Little David Quick, of Arcot Street, Penarth, was the 2-5 years overall winner in the recent Parasol Baby and Toddler photo competition held at David Morgan, in Windsor Road, Penarth.

The Rev David Coffey, General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, is visiting Penarth tomorrow (Saturday) to lead the celebration evening of the Cardiff Bay Baptist Fellowship.

M Yves Riou of Anciens Combatants, from Penarth's twin town of St Pol de Leon, laid a wreath at the Garden of Remembrance in Alexandra Park, on Remembrance Sunday.
